Russian news agencies, citing police sources, have reported that the two were not robbed and that a knife was used in the attack. The invesigators did not say whether the attack was motivated by racism.
Racist attacks against foreigners of non-European appearance occur regularly in Russia, though authorities say the number of such hate crimes dropped in half last year amid a successful crackdown on extremist groups.

A South Korean exchange student died in Russia on Thursday after being attacked by a group of youths, investigators said, after Russian officials touted a successful crackdown on racist attacks.
The unnamed student was attacked on Monday while he was walking down the street with a female companion, also South Korean, in the Siberian city of Barnaul, regional investigators said in a statement.

@EricSuperior Next time you are in Canada, you should stop by Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Mile zero of the Alaska Hi-way starts in Dawson Creek. The Alaska Hi-way was built to enable the transport of lend-lease supplies to the USSR during WWII. Also fly into Watson Lake, Yukon; there is an impressive display at the airport showing the supplies that went to USSR during WWII. Russia is still making payments to the U.S. for the WWII war supplies. Without the allies the USSR wouldn’t exist.

Russia is a very powerfull country, I’ve always been attract by this country, the culture, the people…the skinheads are only a minority in Russia, I have a lot of russian friends, it’s very cool, always people that know how to fight, I like this.

Theres no way to prove your side either way – Russia did not defeat Germany alone its fact,and as many historians have said,without the allied war effort theres no way the Soviets would have won against Hitler – you just have no clue how much equipment we sent over there – MILLIONS. Now it’s quite popular opinion in Russia that Russians were able to defeat German alone, and this opinion supported by many historians. Furthermore recently I have seen my friend’s little brothers 7th grade history textbook, and there was written that Russia have had crucial role in WWII and allies have contributed very little to the victory over Germany

No way in hell could Russia have won alone,we supplied you with millions and millions of dollars worth of equipment,everthing from Trucks,Rifles,Submachine guns,bombs,grenades,fighter planes,food,tobacco the list goes on. If we never helped you,Russia would have lost the war in 1943 easily. If we were not in France,Belgium,or Hololand those millions of Germans would have been in Russia defeating you. America has done nothing, but only earned large pile of money. They had stopped Great Depression with money and gold that Russia had paid for Land-Lease. Nowadays Russian historians and militaries say that Russia could win this war without any help. USA army got involved in the war against Germany four and a half years after it had started. Yes of course they fought against Japan but Russia too.
